What is fondant? Fondant is a sweet, neutral filling for chocolates, made from sugar, water and glucose syrup. It can be easily flavoured and coloured to make fruity, minty, or any variety of fondant filling. It’s most famously used for the centre of a particular egg-shaped confection, but is an incredibly versatile product that can be flavoured with alcohol concentrates, fruit and flavour pastes and oils, and used to fill chocolate bonbon shells or bars.
Unlike fondant icing, which is firm and can be rolled out and cut, our range of fondants are semi liquid and ideal for mixing, colouring, flavouring and piping into moulded chocolate shapes and shells. This fondant from Belgosuc makes a great, economical alternative to ganache, and is easy to store with a long shelf life.
